"5 stars for value, nicely sized ottoman (arrived with all needed parts)" 2010-06-26By
Rachel DayWe needed new ottomans for the living room but were having trouble finding things that fit our requirements. Most of the ottomans that were in our price range were teeny, with nice sized ones costing 200-300 dollars. We chose this one because it was nicely sized and didn't cost us a bundle.
When it arrived, I was pleased to see it was a solid piece of furniture, especially for its price. The fabric is a nice soft fake suede and the frame is simple but sturdy wood covered in fabric. The top cushion is pretty plush (and will get softer as we break it in). The ottoman is super light weight too, so I can move it around easily. It's big enough to be comfortable for my feet and one of our small dogs.
We did not put the legs on the unit, at the recommendation of another reviewer. Without the legs, it's about the right height for a very low bean bag chair (perhaps a smidge too high). The feet are a good 5 inches tall, which would be way too much. It doesn't slide as easily on the carpet without the legs, but that's a minor quibble. Thankfully, the feet don't come attached, so we just didn't put them on, as opposed to unscrewing them later.
I gave this product five stars because while it's not some luxurious piece of furniture, it's an awesome ottoman for the price (especially with free shipping from Amazon). Definitely not to go with the 5,000 dollar living room set. :)
Also, like other people have said, the feet and cushion ARE shipped with the unit. Just peel back the black fabric on the bottom of the frame and extract the top cushion and legs. The legs screw in through the fabric and the cushion Velcros to the top of the frame.
"Nice ottoman but confusing packing" 2010-03-08By

The ottoman itself it a decent piece of furniture for the price. It's fairly sturdy and the top cushion is confy. However, the legs make the ottoman too tall to be comfortable when paired with a couch or loveseat. I removed the legs, though, and it looks just as well--or better--without them and is perfect foot resting height.
The packaging when it was shipped was rather confusing. When I first received the item, I thought that the cushion and legs were missing from it. When I contacted Amazon about the problem, they directed me to who they said was the manufacturer. Turns out, it wasn't. The person they put me in contact with was actually another retailer who was able to tell me that the manufacturer stuffs the top cushion and the legs within the ottoman itself (you have to pull back the black fabric on the bottom to find the cushion and legs) to save on shipping costs. There were no instructions included to clue me in on this fact, though.
All in all, once the drama of the missing cushion and legs were resolved, I've enjoyed this item.

Frank BorowiczYou do not get the full ottoman you just get the base with no legs or top pillow. I had reordered thinking it was a mistake that the company didn't send all the pieces. Second shipment was just the base. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Price was to good to be true seen by the picture.
